Sitting on Another Train

And, believe it or not, this isn't at Travel Town.   This is Fillmore, CA which is about 35 minutes from our house and the home of the Fillmore and Western Railway.

Brady, Mommy, and Thomas

And this is the reason we were in Fillmore-- A Day Out with Thomas 2011.  Brady loves trains and he loves Thomas so we figured this would be a great event for him.  He had a good time.  I think he really enjoyed himself but he got a bit over-stimulated at times and acted out.  I think he wanted to do too many things at once.

Sunglasses on Thomas

Brady wearing his sunglasses as we wait to leave the station.  Check out the cool tat on his hand.  He got Thomas and James tattoos.

Same Face?

This picture made me laugh because Brady and I appear to be making the exact same face.  Click it for a larger version and check for yourself.

Sunglasses 2

Here's Brady showing his new fashion move-- putting his sunglasses on upside down and then hamming it up for the camera.

Family Picture

A rare picture of the whole family as we ride on the Thomas train.

Happy Spring.  Lets start with the bad news-- Brady still is not potty trained.  Now onto the good news.  We switched day care providers and are really happy with the new center.  The old one was on the decline for a while and Brady wasn't having as much fun and he was getting into trouble (especially after we gave our 2 weeks notice...).  He loves loves the new place.  His friend Allison is there and I think they are happy to see each other again.  And he is making new friends and having a great time.  He was a little sick this week.  New daycare, new germs...  Cathy was going to keep him home to rest and fully recover but by 10AM in the morning he was insisting that "mommy, I want to go to my new school."  So we feel we made the right decision to change.

Brady also picked up some paint brushes in the garage (for painting corners and the trim) and was "painting" the garage wall and a picture.  We've had some canvasses waiting for him for a long time.  I think it is finally time to break them out and see what art work our little guy can create.

Multitasking

Opening presents while talking on the phone with Grammy.  Once Brady got going with his birthday presents, there was no stopping him.

Opening Boardgames

That present is bigger than Brady is...

IMG_2301.jpg

Oh my Goodness...

Brady doesn't know what he has opened but he thinks it is cool

Mandatory Sombrero Picture

This makes year 3 of the mini sombrero.  How long can we continue this tradition?  Hopefully until at least 18.

The Big Sombrero

He is not such a big fan...

Blowing out the Candles

One down, two to go for the 3 year old.

Happy Birthday to Brady.  Brady is still working on potty training.  He generally gets what he needs to do, he just doesn't want to do it.  Oh well, we are going to force it more once we get into the summer and Cathy is on summer vacation.

Brady had his 3-year old checkup today.  There were not any shots so he was a lucky boy.  The doctor was surprised that Brady knew what the stethoscope would do.  He has used one at the vet (when we took Sundae in a few weeks ago) and he also reads about it in his Corduroy book.  Brady measured out at 36.5 inches (25% percentile) and 31.5 lb (50% percentile).  So a bit on the short side (to be expected with his condition but still doing very well although not so much growth this last period) and normal weight.  We had 2 parties this week.  First was one with Autie Kimmy where we gave her a painting that Brady made for her.  The second was on Brady's birthday and you see that one above.

Bellboy

Here's Brady 3-fisting it at Allyson's birthday party.

bradybigdonut.jpg

That is a big donut

We usually buy the powdered sugar minis if we get Brady a donut.  He was a big fan of the ultimate behemoth.

Rocking Party

The kids were supposed to get up and dance.  Brady wasn't about to leave his donut behind, though.

Out of Gas?

Brady doesn't understand the parachute game.  But we are going to blame it on being tired...

Happy Birthday to Allyson.  Brady is enjoying party season.  We are looking to hold his party in a few weeks at Sky City (same place as Michaela's party).  We wanted to wait a few weeks since it has been party central with his new class.

June 19 Pictures and Update

The Cake

Brady doesn't really care for fruit or anything like that in his cake.  So we got him chocolate with chocolate.

IMG_2595.jpg

Sliding at Sky City Bounce House

This was Brady's second trip and he had a blast.  He totally jumped right in and played with no reservation.

IMG_2608.jpg

Ready to Blow Out the Candles

The funniest part is Kim has him in a virtual death grip to make sure he doesn't fall off of the inflatable chair.  Aunt Kimmie was really looking out for Brady.

IMG_2614.jpg

Yummy Cake

Like I said before, the boy is a big fan of chocolate with extra chocolate.

Watering the flowers with Grandma

Grandma thinks Brady is very very funny.

Riding the Burro at Grandma's House

It is remarkably tolerant for being held by the ears.

Ultimate Construction Site

All the rocks at Grandma's are a fantastic toy for a little boy who love love loves his trucks.

IMG_2816.jpg

Construction Kiddo

Brady is absolutely bonkers about the backhoe loader and other construction trucks in the neighborhood for the past week.

IMG_2837.jpg

Bobcat Boy

Brady is also a fan of the bobcat.

IMG_2875.jpg

Slidin' in Style

Brady has his tongue working Air Jordan style.

IMG_2898.jpg

Sesame Street Live

Brady's first foray to musical theater.  The first half was too loud but he enjoyed the second half.

IMG_2941.jpg

Father's Day Present

Brady makes such cute presents.

We're in the midst of potty training.  We've moved into underwear except overnight.  The good news is he does well at daycare most days.  The bad news is he is doing awful at home.  I don't know how he can be dry all day at school and then make a mess 4 or 5 times a day at home.  What are we doing wrong???

Brady seems to be in a growth spurt.  He's definitely heavier lately.  And Kimmie said he looked bigger so Cathy measured him and he was 37 inches laying down.  You can see it in his 3T pants.  They fit him a lot better and the 2T's are too short now.
